Hamptons, Day 1

Today was the first day of the Hamptons International Film Festival, although I decided at the last minute to stay in New York City and spend the day watching the World Cup qualifiers at Nevada Smiths. There were too many wounds left over from the last two times Ireland played Cyprus for me not to go out and support the boys in green and I was delighted to see us scrape out a victory. The United States wasn’t so lucky, falling 2-1 to Trinidad and Tobago in a somewhat meaningless game that was still disappointing to watch. After securing qualification to the next round, Bob Bradley started a crop of younger players and they failed to prove they can hack it on the big stage without the assistance of some of the bigger boys. I also ran some errands with Katz and got some more things in order before heading off to the Hamptons tomorrow. Hopefully the opening night party wasn’t too fun or I’ll feel bad for missing it. Tomorrow, the real story begins.

Katz gets a toaster.

According to this picture, there is absolutely no question as to what Katz is doing the minute he gets home:

    1. Making a bagel with cream cheese on it.
    2. Continuing to grow out an enormous beard.

Dugan, you could not be more correct.
